The Type Bass Based on Number of Strings

Bass Guitar has many types, can be seen from the number of fret, acoustic or electric, the number of strings, etc.. But that will be discussed here is based on the number of types of bass strings. The following are the types of bass based on the number of strings :

1. Bass guitar 4 string

Bass standard tuning configuration with an open string: EADG (low to high).

2. Bass guitar 5 string

Just like a standard 4 string bass, it's just that there are additional low B string on the fourth string (E string). Configuring the open string tuning: B E A D G With a 5 string bass is usually used to reach a lower tone than the standard bass.

3. Bass guitar 6 strings

Just like bass 5 string, just that there are additional high C string under the first string (G string). Configuring the open string tuning: B E A D G C Bass with 6 strings are usually used to reach a lower tone and higher than standard bass.


In addition to the above there are three types of other types (custom) like guitar bass 7 strings, 8 strings, 10 strings, 11 strings and 12 strings, but the kind of bass that is often used is 4,5,6 strings.
